Farmers, we want to hear from you!
The COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference is fast approaching, and we are ready to put all our efforts to highlight the practical solutions farmers from each corner of the globe are implementing against climate change.
For that reason, we decided to extend the deadline to fill in our survey (English, French and Spanish) and our case study collection (English, French and Spanish) until 24 September 2021.
It is your last chance to speak out loud about how you daily face climate change challenges and call on governments to ensure that Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) implementing the Paris Agreement align with your needs.
For a Farmers Driven Climate Change Agenda
The best practices we are collecting from you will feed into the upcoming publication “Stories from the Field – Volume II” we will bring at COP26 to stress that farming owns an important part of the solution to climate change.
We, the Climakers, are here to give you a strong voice at the Glasgow Climate Change Conference and beyond, so tell us more about your experience and what you need and expect.
Your contribution will equip us with practical evidence on the weight of the farmers’ work as a solution in the struggle to adapt to and mitigate the effects of a changing climate.
Why do the Climakers collect farmers’ stories?
Because farmers have unique practical expertise, a combination of formal education, traditional knowledge, and experience from living and working on the land and with nature, and they are already experimenting with practical solutions to climate change with their existing resources, and these experiences need to be highlighted.
That is why, since 2019, the Climakers have been collecting inputs from farmers on how climate change affects agriculture worldwide and the best practices farmers are implementing to adapt to it and/or mitigate its effects.
The Climakers will be in Glasgow to direct the spotlight onto how the farmers’ community worldwide is coping with climate change.
Our previous collections of farmers’ stories fed into “Stories from the Field – Volume I” (2019) and «Stories from the Field COVID-19 Special Edition» (2020). Find out more at https://www.theclimakers.org/stories-from-the-field/.
The COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy, will take place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, UK.
